Help us to raise money for our fantastic local Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to raise £30m for life-saving medical equipment, research and facilities to make the brand new Alder Hey a truly world leading hospital for families across UK. They care for over 275,000 children and young people every year. They are a designated national centre for neuro and craniofacial surgery. A regional centre for burns injuries and a Centre of Excellence of children with cancer, heart, spinal and brain disease. Help them to maintain their excellent standard and more to care for our future – the children.
Our project is to send a Captive Unmanned Gas Balloon to the earth’s stratosphere (up to 100,000 ft) together with 2 cameras and other equipment. We are glad that we have the support from Chris Hillcox (http://www.nearspacephotography.co.uk). It is a challenging project for all our photographic society members.

The Cathedral is inviting photographers of all ages and abilities to submit not just one but two images that depict Liverpool as a City of Contrasts.
The 2013 competition allows photographers to showcase even more of their work and brings in the added challenge of choosing contrasting images to suit this year's theme - Liverpool: City of Contrasts. It is believed to be the first photography competition in the North West to ask photographers to submit two pieces of work as one entry.
